2008 GMC Sierra

2008 GMC Sierra

This GMC Sierra came to us for a full rear end overhaul after getting into an accident. We tore off the long travel leaf spring setup it had and fabricated our own "short course" 4 link system to replace it. With this kit, the main intentions were to keep as much bed space as possible to keep it practical while also getting the most off-road performance out of it possible.

From center of the cab all the way to the back, the frame rails were completely plated inside and out with 1/8" steel, the frame was notched above the axle for maximum up travel, 1.75" x .120 tubing was also laced between the frame rails to tie everything together and add more structure, our link pivots were placed on the frame to connect our 55" "short course" trailing arms down to the rear end housing. The factory rear end received our truss kit, upper and lower link pivots, dual caliper upgrade (added extra calipers for a hand brake) and all -3 stainless brake lines. We fabricated a bolt in bedcage that holds the King 3.0x18" coilovers and the King 2.5x4" bumpstops in place. The factory fuel tank was removed, and a new JAZ 32 gallon fuel cell was mounted behind the axle for more fuel capacity as well as placing the weight in a more optimal location. Because of all the additional up travel the truck was getting, custom wheel tubs had to be made as well to clear the 37" tires at full compression

This truck all and all is alot of fun to drive now and is very predictable. This is the perfect level of truck to perform double duty as a daily driver and weekend toy
